Due Process
We play a vital role in helping families navigate the complexities of Special Education Due Process. Our firm provides expert legal guidance and advocacy to ensure that your child’s educational rights are fully protected under federal and state law.
Due Process is a formal legal procedure that allows parents to challenge a school district’s decisions regarding a child’s special education eligibility, placement, services, or supports. These cases can be highly technical and procedurally complex, involving strict timelines, evidentiary rules, and detailed legal standards.
Our attorneys help families understand their rights, gather and present evidence, prepare witnesses, and advocate effectively at hearings before the Office of Administrative Hearings (OAH). We work to ensure that school districts are held accountable and that each child receives the services and supports they are entitled to under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) and related California laws.
Whether you are considering filing for Due Process or responding to a complaint filed against you, we can help you evaluate your options and build a strong case for your child’s educational needs.
Contact us today for a free, no-obligation consultation to discuss how we can assist you and your family.

Placement, Services and Assessments
Under federal and state law, school districts and public charter schools are required to provide every student in special education with an appropriate placement, in an appropriate school setting, and with the services necessary to meet their individual needs.
Determining what is “appropriate” often requires thorough assessments in areas such as academics, speech and language, occupational therapy, physical therapy, and social-emotional functioning. These evaluations are essential to ensure that your child’s Individualized Education Program (IEP) accurately reflects their unique strengths and challenges.
Our attorneys advocate to ensure that children receive the right services, supports, and placements—not just what is convenient for the school district. We help families secure independent assessments, challenge inadequate programs, and hold schools accountable for providing a free appropriate public education (FAPE) as guaranteed under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA).
If you believe your child is not receiving appropriate services, therapies, or placement, contact us today for a free, no-obligation consultation to discuss how we can help.
